Halloween Games & Activities

A number of traditional games and activities have been linked with Halloween and Halloween parties. Some of the more popular Halloween games and activities include apple bobbing, watching horror movies, telling ghost stories, and visiting haunted attractions or taking guided ghost tours. In the game of apple bobbing, otherwise known as dunking or apple dunking, apples are floated in a large bowl of water and participants attempt to remove them by using only their teeth. Horror films at the cinema and on television, in addition to television shows, with a Halloween or horror theme are often shown around Halloween as part of the overall Halloween festivities.

Halloween also has a range of traditional foods associated with the event, including toffee apples (or candy apples as they are known in the USA), bonfire toffee, pumpkin pie, pumpkin roasted pumpkin seeds, barmbrack, colcannon, and novelty Halloween-themed confectionery. The popularity of Halloween foods varies between countries; for example, the fruit cake barmbrack and the potato-based colcannon originate from Ireland.
